1. Introduction

At Flock, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all members of our community. These Community Standards outline the behaviors and content that are not permitted on our platform.

By using Flock's services, you agree to follow these standards. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban, and in severe cases, may be reported to law enforcement.

2. Age Requirements

Minimum Age: 18 years old

Flock requires all users to be at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account and all associated information. By using our platform, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older.

3. Prohibited Content and Behavior

To maintain a safe and respectful community, the following content and behaviors are strictly prohibited on Flock:

3.1 Harassment and Bullying

  • Targeted harassment or intimidation of any user
  • Threats of violence or harm
  • Doxxing or sharing someone's private information without consent
  • Coordinated harassment campaigns

3.2 Hate Speech and Discrimination

  • Content that promotes violence or hatred based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Slurs, stereotypes, or dehumanizing language
  • Denial of historical atrocities
  • Supremacist ideologies

3.3 Violence and Dangerous Activities

  • Threats of violence or physical harm
  • Promotion of violent extremism or terrorism
  • Graphic violent content
  • Content promoting dangerous activities or self-harm

3.4 Sexual Content

  • Sexually explicit content or nudity
  • Sexual solicitation or services
  • Non-consensual intimate images

3.5 Illegal Activities

  • Content that promotes or facilitates illegal activities
  • Sale of illegal goods or services
  • Instructions for illegal activities

3.6 Spam and Deceptive Practices

  • Spam, phishing, or fraudulent schemes
  • Impersonation of others
  • Misleading or deceptive content
  • Manipulation of platform features

4. Reporting Violations

4.1 In-App Reporting

Flock provides comprehensive in-app reporting mechanisms that allow users to report concerns without leaving the app:

  • Report a User: Available on every user profile via the three-dot menu
  • Report an Event: Available on every event page via the report button
  • Report Content: Available on posts, comments, and messages

4.2 What Happens After You Report

  1. Review: Our safety team reviews the report within 24-48 hours
  2. Investigation: We investigate the report thoroughly, which may include reviewing user history and related content
  3. Action Taken: Based on our findings, we take appropriate action (warning, content removal, suspension, or permanent ban)
  4. Notification: We may notify you of the outcome when appropriate

4.3 False Reporting

While we encourage users to report genuine concerns, intentionally false reports are also violations of our community standards and may result in account penalties.

5. Enforcement & Consequences

5.1 Violation Consequences

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation:

  • Warning: First-time minor violations may result in a warning
  • Content Removal: Violating content will be removed
  • Temporary Suspension: Account access may be suspended for a period
  • Permanent Ban: Severe or repeated violations result in permanent account termination
  • Legal Action: We cooperate with law enforcement and may pursue legal action when appropriate

5.2 Appeals Process

Users who believe their account was incorrectly penalized may appeal by contacting our support team at safety@flocksocial.app. Appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

6. User Responsibilities

All Flock users are expected to:

  • Treat all community members with respect and dignity
  • Report violations of these standards when observed
  • Provide accurate information in their profiles
  • Respect others' privacy and consent
  • Use the platform only for lawful purposes
  • Help create a safe environment for all users

7. Child Safety Standards

Flock is an 18+ platform. Minors are strictly prohibited from using our services.

7.1 Zero Tolerance Policy

We have a zero tolerance policy for content that exploits or endangers minors. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexualizes minors
  • Grooming or solicitation of minors
  • Content depicting minors in inappropriate situations
  • Sharing or requesting personal information of minors
  • Any attempt to contact or meet minors through our platform

7.2 Age Verification and Prevention

To protect minors from accessing age-inappropriate content:

  • Users must confirm they are 18 or older during account creation
  • We employ age verification mechanisms and monitoring systems
  • Accounts suspected of being operated by minors are immediately suspended pending verification
  • We cooperate with parents and guardians who report underage users

7.3 Reporting Child Safety Concerns

If you encounter any content involving minors or suspect a user is under 18:

  1. Immediately report the content/user through our in-app reporting system
  2. Do not engage with the content or user
  3. Preserve evidence by taking screenshots if safe to do so
  4. Contact us directly at safety@flocksocial.app for urgent matters

7.4 Our Response to Child Safety Reports

When we receive reports concerning child safety:

  • Immediate Action: Content is removed and accounts are suspended immediately upon detection
  • Investigation: Our safety team conducts thorough investigations within 24 hours
  • Law Enforcement: We report all suspected CSAM and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and appropriate law enforcement
  • Permanent Ban: Users who violate child safety policies receive permanent, non-appealable bans
  • Data Preservation: We preserve evidence for law enforcement investigations

7.5 Parental Controls and Resources

For parents and guardians:

  • Contact safety@flocksocial.app to report if your child has created an account
  • We will immediately remove any accounts belonging to minors upon verification
  • We provide resources and guidance for digital safety education
  • We cooperate fully with parental requests for information regarding minor accounts

7.6 Education and Prevention

We are committed to preventing minors from accessing our platform through:

  • Clear age requirements in our Terms of Service and during registration
  • Regular safety audits and improvements to our age verification systems
  • Training our moderation team on child safety best practices
  • Collaboration with child safety organizations and experts
  • Implementation of industry best practices for age-gating and content moderation

Remember: Protecting minors is everyone's responsibility. If you see something concerning, report it immediately. Your vigilance helps keep children safe.

8. Updates to These Standards

We may update these Community Standards from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Flock after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated standards.
